African Wild Cat, Satara, Kruger Park

We had hoped to see a wild cat but never, ever thought we would have one in a camp. We stayed at Satara for 3 nights and saw wild cat every night. This lady hung around under the nesting little swifts, watching them as they came and went and with plenty of chicks hanging out the nests, bet she didn't go hungry! As we sat out at night enjoying a cold beer, we would have fleeting glimpses of wildcat as it padded on it's route around the BBQ's in the camp, eating scraps. Just look at those greener than green eyes. We have two cats here at home, this wildcat was half as big again as our domestic cats.
