Blackcaps

Lots of singing males on todays walk, mainly hidden in the foliage and twigs. Struck lucky with this one with a 10 second glimpse of him in full voice, singing for England,  on an open branch. Fabulous !

Our wheatears are back

Our wheatears are back ! We saw 5 on our morning walk today, distant and with a cracking heat haze. We have gone from winter to summer overnight !

After every storm there is a rainbow

'After every storm there is a rainbow'

A beautiful hand painted gift from our daughter, Lucy, to thank us all for the love and support we have given her during the pandemic. A lovely gift that we will cherish forever.

A local RAVEN !

We heard this coming before we saw it, cronking away, never quiet. Always good to find your own raven, even better when it's local. A brilliant find.

Red Kite

A Red Kite is always good to see but even better when it's a local one !  Get in !!

Happy Easter

This is the post box in Messingham and doesn't it look wonderful with it's Easter theme hat on. A bunny, chick and a few bees feeding on a flower. Just lovely. We have a few of these around our area, some very talented crafters, very jealous. Learning how to crochet was one of my lockdown wishes but so far I haven't got round to it.
