Long-tailed Duck, North Hykeham

A brilliant day out, headed to North Hykeham in Lincoln to see the Long Tailed Duck on Millennium Lake. Found it straight away but we did seem to be battling with the sun most of the morning making photography challenging !  Good to catch up with Pete Haywood who we haven't seen for years and then we bumped into Dean N and the laughter soon flowed as we put the birding world to rights !
The Red Arrows showed off their display skills on the way there and the way back.

Long-tailed Duck reflections and colours

A lovely Sunday afternoon drive to the seaside to see this long-tailed duck and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was definately used to people and dogs but seemed to be very wary of bikes. Love the reflections of the coloured fences.

And then someone said  "BATH TIME"  !!

This week so far .....

Long-tailed Duck and a couple of  Common Scoter at Covenham Reservoir

 Kestrel

Kingfisher at Blacktoft Sands

and a couple of Willow Tits on one of our local walks.....on a footpath next to a housing estate, not on a nature reserve so we will be able to feed and watch these birds without the wrath of the Lincs Trust.
