A couple of foxes that visit our garden each night.......and meeting the devil cat that is Pixi !

The male fox has only just started coming into our garden. So pleased as he looks stunning !

 

Pixi is the tiniest cat, and now 12 years old. She will take on anything and everything that ventures into her garden. Here she is meeting the female fox and showing it who is boss !  The fox beats a retreat but does return later in the night for the nuts I leave out for them.

We have at least a couple of foxes that visit quite a few houses in our neighborhood. We speak to alot of people that now feed them from eggs to fresh chickens. They certainly won't go hungry. We have had eggs buried in our garden, both front and back, over the course of a couple of years. It took us a while for it to dawn on us that it was foxes doing it ! So I have bought a wildlife camera so we can see when they visit and we also now feed them, peanuts, chopped fruit and the occasional egg. Their usual visit is between 3 and 4am.  I have placed the food and camera down the drive, behind Tom's van, so they feel safe. We love having them visit and would love to see them in daylight. No idea which garden the den is in but there are some huge gardens not too far away so our guess is one of those. 

and it comes back and takes an egg !

Walked into the parkland and there were 7 red kites sat in this tree......we knew we were in for a good afternoon !

A distant peregrine that displayed the whole time we were there, the more his female called the more he displayed......a fantastic sight to see

Just got out the car and this fox trotted down the road. No time to think about camera settings, just point and hope !  We saw him a few times, a magnificent animal x

Our garden fox

We have had a fox visiting the garden for well over a year now, never seen but we constantly found buried food - a tell tale sign that a fox was visiting. So we put out our webcam and caught a glimpse of him digging in the bottom of our garden. This was taken a month ago and he hasn't been back since but a neighbor has recently found fresh digging and buried food so it is still around !

It's amazing what you can see when you are the only people there. For a long time now Toft has been closed for fishing and is now fenced and locked so no one is in there (apart from 3 birders and the occasional EA worker). This fox was in the car park in broad daylight and just looked at us looking at him before he slowly strolled back to the hedge line.  What a fantastic sight to see and the best thing we have ever seen at Toft !
