The sand martins have arrived and it is so good to see them !

Our first Sand Martins of the year, RSPB Blacktoft Sands

 

A trip to Blacktoft which is really just up the road for us and we struck lucky with these 2 sand martins, the first of the year for us. There was just us two there ! A couple of chiffchaffs were singing their hearts out in the car park.

and a very distant Black Necked Grebe ( we have had 3 on there this week and none of them came close)

We have had some good trips to Toft recently. There are no fishermen there at all now and the reservoir is now totally fenced and locked with just 3 birders having access, perfect.
