A couple of foxes that visit our garden each night.......and meeting the devil cat that is Pixi !

The male fox has only just started coming into our garden. So pleased as he looks stunning !

 

Pixi is the tiniest cat, and now 12 years old. She will take on anything and everything that ventures into her garden. Here she is meeting the female fox and showing it who is boss !  The fox beats a retreat but does return later in the night for the nuts I leave out for them.

She loves us to be in the garden when it's sunny and is constantly with us helping with the weeding.....but not keen at all on the watering !

Our greenhouse, absolutely stuffed to the gills at the moment. Soon all the fuchsias will be planted out making way for chillis, peppers and cucumbers

A few bits and bobs

 

Should you really have to do this to keep warm ?  Here we both are, late 60's, worked all our lives and now cannot afford to put the heating on. Simon cuts wood a couple of times a week and he has kept us all warm this winter, Our stove is lit first thing and gets the house toasty, the room usually over 70 degrees in the evening. All the wood is free from our son (joiner) or a very kind neighbour who we trade wood for veg in the summer !

About 30 buckets of potatoes at the bottom of the garden, that are growing ! Can't wait to eat them with lurpak and salt ! There is a full bed of them aswell......we won't go hungry !

Simon loves to grow ornamental, specialist daffodils which we have in the house each year in spring. I have had a good 20 pots of them dotted around the house. They might look beautiful but some are very heavily scented, not good for the old hay fever ! But they do look stunning.

We have two foxes that visit, often burying eggs in our garden. We found this one in a planter in the front garden last week. The following night it came back and took it and then the following night a new egg (this time a brown shelled one) was buried. We have now set up a bit of a feeding tray for them with a camera on it but they have yet to find it. They are very well fed foxes with the eggs being left out by a neighbour at the back and we have been told that a lady across the road buys them chicken ! 

Simon grows many spring flowers in the greenhouse, bringing them in when they flower. Just love the spring colours, a very welcome sight after the winter's greyness

Paper White narcissi, absolutely beautiful and so fragrant. Lots more in the greenhouse, just coming into bud. They will be brought in soon x

A few amaryllis bulbs and this is the first to flower...flipping heck it's gorgeous !

Collected a load of willow withies over the weekend. Now all made into rings to make next year's wreaths. They will hang in the shed but a job well done on a rainy afternoon.....and we have had plenty of those !

Our local Bee Orchids are well and truly up this year. Hundreds of rosettes in the grass verge, more than we usually see due to the wet conditions. Orchids that our council (North Lincs) know about and yet when I tell them not to cut and they promise not to, three days later they are cut to the ground. Three years running they have done that. Fingers crossed for this year. I have told our MP about them and he has notified everyone on the council.........I will keep you posted !
