Alpine Swift at Bempton

A UK first for us. Had to wait a while for the bird to appear during which time the heavens opened and we were totally soaked to the skin. An RSPB truck came and let us shelter in there - much appreciated and a big thank you. Wonder if these two birders know the swift is above their heads?!

 Green Woodpecker

An excellent week despite the weather with peregrines with chicks, 8 nightjars (and 3 million mossies!) accompanied by roding woodcock and an osprey. Other highlights include this close up green woodpecker, a short eared owl, a hobby, kestrels with chicks and a pair of barn owls with 3 chicks.
