One of those excellent evenings. Karen had just uttered the words "this is rubbish, lets go home and watch the footie" when a hobby flew past at jet speed. Our first one of the year in this area. A few miles down the road we had corn buntings, found a new sand martin colony, saw buzzard, kestrel, marsh harrier, yellow wagtail and then came across this summering short eared owl. Turned out to be quite a good evening and not forgeting the England win !
