Marsh Harriers, RSPB Blacktoft Sands

A fantastic few hours in the hides at Blacktoft Sands. We are lucky as it is just down the road for us. Plenty of Marsh Harrier action with many pairing up.  Some stunning looking males !

Ring-necked Duck, Messingam

An excellent couple of hours at Messingham to see the ring-necked duck. Afraid never close and with a good 100 tufted duck and pochard on there aswell, seeing it was sometimes challenging !

A 34lb 12oz Common Carp for Tom

An excellent start to the year for our Tom with this 34-12 common carp at his syndicate pond. That woke him up at 3am ! What a cracking fish.

GOSHAWKS !

We had only been parked for around 10 minutes, bins ready, flask and butties ready, camera set up and then bingo, a goshawk flew !  We stayed about 2 hours until flying dacked off abit but we were so lucky to see 3 in the air at once. Red Kite was a good supporting cast. A fantastic day and a place we will return to again, hopefully next week.
