Great Northern Diver & Shag at Covenham Reservoir

Lots of Goldeneye

A good day at Covenham Reservoir and we both felt better having done something and had a good walk......far too much food has been consumed and too much TV watched!  Lots of sailing action on the reservoir so all the birds were all along the opposite side but were constantly flushing and very unsettled. We did eventually find the diver but the waves were making me feel queasy ! The Shag was fishing very successfully around the monitoring station. But the dog poo was on a whole new level....the verge up from the car park was covered along with 200m in each direction. Absolutely vile.

A few recent bits and bobs

Christmas Day......fire lit, feet up, turkey in, sprouts on and Peter Rabbit on TV.

Happy Christmas !

A lovely day xx

A few from last week

Eat your heart out Alfred Hitchcock !

Not many birds but the Reds were out practicing above us, new pilots and lots to learn !

1000+ Pink-footed Geese feeding on potatoes

The Fantastic Mr. Fox on different days

The fieldfares have finally arrived

Goosanders

This one wasn't too keen on the resident swans, giving them a wide berth

Love the sunset colours x

Very distant on a thick fog day !

We see Goosander on most of our local walks now with numbers varying from 2 up to 6.  Love the reflection on this pic and the ones into the sunset are magical.
