Last weeks bits and bobs

Whitethroats

Juv. Swallows

Housemartins, still tucked up !

Our local sheep farmer leaves his fleeces to rot in the fields after shearing. They are now worthless. Just about sums the world up really.

Tom has had some fantastic fishing trips down at his syndicate lake recently.  It makes up for his latest France trip being cancelled for the third time ! All his trips rolled over from last year to this year and onto next year !

We enjoy a few hours fishing occasionally. It usually involves a decent pack-up, a good book to get stuck into and sometimes, forty winks !  Happy days xx

White-tailed Lapwing, RSPB Blacktoft Sands

What a morning !  Was planning a day watching a USA drone fly at RAF Waddington, then the plans went straight out the window!  There we were thinking about breakfast and pegging washing out when the pager bleeped......a white-tailed lapwing at Blacktoft Sands, just a few miles up the road. So off we went and there was just 8 folk in the hide when we got there (and two of those worked there!) but it soon filled up and queuing outside the hide so we had excellent views and then beat a retreat. A bird we had seen before in northern India but a new UK bird for us taking Karen's list to 430.
