More Silver-washed Fritillaries from a couple of weeks ago

Our local woods are simply alive with these beautiful butterflies this year. A stunning display of floating orange along the burdock and bramble tops. Some of these pics were taken a week apart.....their wings are in tatters from battling ! A stunning sight to see and of course, just us two !!

Greyling Butterflies

Must be the most cryptic butterfly in the world ! Spot the greyling ! Good job we saw this one land as they are almost invisible.

A site near to home, we never fail here !

Large Heath Butterfly, Crowle Moors

A massive step count today to hopefully see a large heath butterfly. We didn't go home empty handed with two, perhaps three seen. Absolutely buggered when we got back to the car......age is beginning to catch up with us and I hate it !
Spoke to a butterfly chap on the path and he had walked the whole of Crowle Moors and seen four so recon we did ok !

Beautiful orchids, meadows and butterflies

Hundreds of common spotted orchids on the verges this year

Southern Marsh Orchid

Ringlet

Red Admiral

Pink - possibly a garden escapee

Common Spotted Orchids

Bee Orchid, a good find in this meadow

Some beautiful meadows, full or orchids and a view to die for xx
