Crowle Moors - North Lincolnshire Council

This is the public footpath that runs through Crowle Moors. TOTALLY UNWALKABLE. In 2016 North Lincolnshire Council was successful in securing £3million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. I worked on the project before my retirement 5 years ago. A list of projects was drawn up, this path being one of them. This boardwalk has been under construction for the best part of 2 years. You would think with all that money it could be done and dusted in a week, wrong. 2 years and only 20 metres of boardwalk are down. The walkway is so high that I need a hand getting up and down before sinking knee deep in water. Why does it not surprise you.

'remains open during wet periods'.......you are having a laugh !

And then we move onto Thorne Moors and the bird hide. Well, the base of it anyway that is in the totally wrong place. The base, which as you can see is not even level, has been down for 2 years, the same as the path boardwalk. The birdhide which is simply a metal container with the back removed remains in the depot yard. It comes complete with metal seats......they will keep your bum nice and chilly. £3 million quid.......remember that staggering figure. It's not very often that words fail.......
