This was one of the water buffalo kills that we came across down a track near to Satara. The buffalo was wedged in the base of a tree and had been dead for some considerable time obvious by the overpowering nauseating stench. Hyenas were present and vultures were in the tree tops, waiting for their turn. The three lions were absolutely full of food and simply layed in the grass and snoozed away. Parking and viewing here was an absolute nightmare as it was on a single track on a bend and viewing was best through a 6ft gap. With around 10 cars justling for a glimpse, we decided to beat a retreat.
