Autumn Ladies Tresses

Karen being very careful where she put her size 5's !

A drive through Lincolnshire to the Cambridge border for these Autumn Ladies Tresses. After chatting to the chap who looks after them, we thought we were a couple of weeks early as he told us the grass had only greened up a couple of days ago and he hadn't seen any spikes as yet. So we thought we had a wasted journey but Karen's beady eyes soon spotted a spike, and then another until we realised the grass held multitudes of them ! We couldn't have met a nicer chap who opened his gates for us to park off the main road, and the helleborines were simply stunning. A fabulous day and a new orchid on our UK list. We will continue next year !
