What a day ! Day's don't come much better than this at Spurn with a Citrine Wagtail from Canal Scrape Hide, followed by not one, but two, Icterine Warblers. Topped the day off with a Red-backed Shrike at Sammy's. Absolutely Fabulous !

Raptor fest !
Oh my goodness...what a mad hour ! 3 peregrines and 3 hobbys joined by a marsh harrier. They flew and tussled, battling and playing. Diving and swooping with talons out. Absolutely fantastic !
A good afternoon at Spurn
A count of 51 whinchats in the Spurn area today. Wished we had spent more time with these this evening, but it was already 7pm and we wanted to stop off at Sammy's Point on the way home.
2 short-eared owls at Sammy's finished the day off nicely. And with easterly wind forecast, we will be back again soon we hope!

Woodchat Shrike, Spurn
A late afternoon trip over to Spurn for this juv Woodchat Shrike. Only a second UK sighting for us. The shrike showed briefly and often disappeared for long periods. Whinchats, Pied Flycatchers and a couple of short-eared owls made up a fabulous supporting cast. An excellent afternoon and evening.
