Taiga Flycatcher, Trow Quarry, South Shields, Durham

A steady drive north for us yesterday to see the Taiga Flycatcher at Trow Quarry in South Shields. The site was familiar to us and we soon realised it was next to where we saw the Eastern Crowned Warbler all those years ago ! The crowd was quite large, about 60 birders, with not alot of distancing going on so we stood to one side. The bird was very mobile but did show nearly the whole time we were there. From where we stood we had the sun to battle with, which was blinding at times. A new UK bird for us and this took Karen's UK tally to 423.
