Elite Mens Individual Time Trial, UCI World Championships, Yorkshire

Couldn't resist a trip out into North Yorkshire to see this race. Headed to Ripley, a few miles from the finish in Harrogate. Only just got parked before all the roads were closed.....an hour and a half before any riders arrived !  It took around 2 hours for all the riders to come past us and even though we were stood on a roundabout, none seemed to slow down and were all past us in the blink of an eye!  Already looking forward to the road race on Sunday, bought our car park ticket months ago for Harrogate, lets hope the weather doesn't live up to the forecast.

and they are on their way !

Eddie Dunbar of Team Ireland (Ineos) was the first one to come past having overtaken a few riders along the way

John Archibald of Team GB

I bet that really hurts !

Overtaking and an inch away from a crash on the roundabout

This rider seemed to have given up and when he came past us, we could see the reason why......lots of missing lycra and skin from his back !

The Belgium team  came to watch and support some of their mates. Autographs and selfies all round, even hear one chap asking about the fabric of their leggings which were clearly not bought from a Sports Direct Mega Sale !

Can't resist !  We seemed to be the only people with binoculars but in-between riders we had some excellent views of Red Kites ....... and Phillipe Gilbert !!

The favourites all had their own cameras
