Wood Sandpipers, North Cave Wetlands

9 Wood Sandpipers this evening infront of the turret hide on Island Lake at North Cave Wetlands. A fantastic reserve, managed water levels, lots of islands with cover, shingle and scrapes, perches, excellent hides with good clear views, hides full of info and friendly, chatty locals. A tree stock that is managed, hedges that are layed and not flailed, a bird feeding station, wild flowers and rough grass fields with an excellent path network that is totally screened.  Puts everything in North Lincolnshire to shame. We must visit here more often !
