Little Bustard, Mickletown, West Yorkshire

Couldn't resist a trip out this morning for this male little bustard. Not an easy journey, navigating Xscape and shops (especially when Karen takes a wrong turn!!) and add that to rush hour traffic - flipping nightmare. Our journey home was a lot easier thank goodness. Easy to find once we had parked, and a good friendly crowd of birders to pass the morning with. The bird favouring the left hand corner where it disappeared behind long grass and fence posts. The novelty had worn off with the locals...moaning about people and parking, but the donations bucket for the local hospice looked very healthy indeed. Home to harvest spuds and beans - how did we ever find time to go to work ?!
