Red-necked Phalarope & Montagues Harrier, RSPB Blacktoft Sands

A brilliant few hours at Blacktoft Sands. The phalarope was straight out the Singleton Hide, feeding and flitting about.  A good crowd in the hide so plenty of chatting and laughter which is always good.

We have missed this bird all summer so it was excellent to finally see her. The light was just beginning to fade and everyone was starting to pack their stuff away when Simon called out MONTY. Very distant but still very happy to finally see her. An excellent evening and a very happy hide of birders.
