Blast Furnaces - The rarest sight in Britain !

These are the blast furnaces at our steel works. They are the last four remaining furnaces in the country that make steel and their days seem to be numbered unless a rescue package can be found. There are arguments for keeping then going and also for closing as, at the moment, they make a huge loss. I am all for keeping them to keep the town alive. Scunthorpe is a very deprived northern town that the government has totally forgotten about and without the steelworks we might aswell board up the whole town as 1000's of people work here. The knock on effect world be devastating for this town.  There seems to be a package in the pipeline, lets hope it comes to fruition. Fingers crossed !
