A nightmare of a drive to Bempton on Tuesday. There were roadworks and traffic lights every few miles, a flipping nightmare and a horrendous journey. But it was worth it in the end.....well sort of ! A couple of 10 second views of the barred warbler, and one lesser whitethroat to start with but by the afternoon we had at least 5 so more had dropped in. Surprisingly, no flycatchers on Tuesday. A very friendly small crowd of birders made the day very enjoyable.
