Last week's catch up

A lovely woodland walk

This is on one of our regular walks and every year the farmer has his sheep sheared and then the wool is simply left to rot in the fields. He usually leaves it in the hedge bottom but last year it was nicely wrapped in plastic so it will go nowhere. An absolute blot on the landscape and this farmer is a multi millionaire !!

That's one for the Christmas card !!

We have never seen so many pigeons in a field before.....there are thousands and it's a spectacle to see

On the moors, failing miserable with the shrike

Marsh Tit on feeders

Marsh Harrier

Now this photo doesn't do justice to the 20 magpies that were in this tree, quite an usual sight to see so many

Kestrel in the sun

and then totally out the blue, a ringtail flew over !  Nowhere near the area we have watched them all winter. That was a brucey bonus that morning I can tell you.

Lovely to see the hawthorn out, a sign that spring is nearly here

Grey wagtail at Winteringham Sewage works

Goosanders still on the river

Some lovely fungus

A fence owned by the millionaire farmer that owns the sheep fleeces. Don't get me started !!

and a lovely blue tit, happy days !
