A new Lincs tick for us ! Arrived at the farm and chatted to the farm manager who allowed us to park in the farm yard and told us all the spots the hoopoe favoured. We had fleeting views of it on the grass at the weighbridge but a white van scared it half to death and off it flew. We looked everywhere, the staff looked everywhere and we waited for hours (and got soaked in a torrential downpour). I said I would have one last look along the main road and was just about to give up when a local pointed us in the right direction ! We stayed with it for about an hour while it fed and slept, fed and slept. We had eye watering views of it, fantastic.
