Swallows, Swifts and Yellow Wagtails in the rain

We timed this walk perfectly. As the rain started to fall, the swallows came down and they were spectacular. Swooping and diving all around us. Some sat on the fence, chattering to one another. And then we spotted one that was different with a dark pink breast. You can see it on the pic above. A fantastic looking bird that topped off one of those magical birding days.

A magnificent looking barn swallow.

In the middle fence section is a house martin sat among the swallows and the swallow sat on the post on the left was rung with a silver ring.

RAIN !!

We were stunned by the amount of Yellow Wagtails that were here, impossible to count accurately but a good 50+. Fabulous !

Another day......another swift !
