Asian Desert Warbler, Holy Island, Northumberland

Very active and not easy to pick up amongst the twigs. It did a circuit between 4 trees, constantly flitting about and feeding.

A drive north up to Holy Island yesterday for the Asian Desert Warbler. An easy drive, good parking and then walk and look for the pine trees and the crowd. Not too bad, only about 30 birders there. The Stood was covered in orchids so a return trip is definately on the cards. Stayed for a couple of hours knowing we had the 200 mile return trip, but a brilliant afternoon and well worth the drive. This takes Karen's UK tally to 419.
