Gull-billed Tern, Adwick Washlands, Yorks

We were a bit late getting to Adwick this morning as waited in for a wood delivery (you can never turn down free fire wood!) and when we got there the tern had flown away. We thought we would give it an hour anyway, just incase. We had just reached the water when Simon shouted 'tern' as it flew over our heads and landed back on the water. Bingo !!  Good (but distant) views for well over an hour before it flew off again. A happy, friendly crowd added to the excellent morning and this bird took Karen's UK tally to 411. Back home with more van loads of wood delivered and stacked, with cricket, tennis and cycling to watch, a lovely day x
