Alkborough Flats - North Lincolnshire Council's idea of grassland management

Two fields at Alkborough Flats (managed by North Lincolnshire Council) that were covered in insects on the flowers and grasses a week ago. It looked beautiful. A visit today to see it had all been cut down to the ground and bailed by the local farmer. A free crop for him and tough for all the insects that have now lost their nectar. Ironic that a sign on the gate says 'Habitat managed for ground nesting birds'. Recon someone that knows what they are doing needs to take control of the management of this site as North Lincolnshire Council are incapable.  We now have scalped earth at the top of the site and a sheep farm that resembles New Zealand at the bottom.

An absolute disgrace
