A few Kaziranga birds

Blue-naped Pitta !!
I know you can't see it in the pic but it did run across this path twice before totally disappearing in the undergrowth. Didn't have time to lift binoculars so forget the camera. I can't begin to tell you how many biting flies and midges were in this tiny piece of woodland that is surrounded by the main road, a temple, the tea plantation and houses. A tiny piece of woodland that holds one of the world's jewels!
