This has got to be one of the snazziest birds on the planet. We climbed to the heavens yesterday thinking these had gone up there to their breeding ground.....wrong! There were two very close to the village and we saw them both. Albeit very briefly, the birds are never still, up on the branch and back down again before you can blink. Photos taken in a split second, no time for focusing and posing thats for sure. A massive world bird that is now ticked on my list. Two of our team had returned back up to the glacier this morning in the hope of seeing these but there had been a massive fall of snow during the night and they couldn't get that far. It was probably the snow fall that had pushed them back down into the village. Oh yes !
