Waxwings, Alkborough

There is a cotoneaster tree in the village of Alkborough that has been covered in berries all winter. Each time we pass it we both say 'there will be waxwings on that one day - it's perfect', and low and behold on Saturday there were 11 waxwings filling their boots with these lovely red berries.  We didn't know they were there and as we were heading for the Maze to look down at the flats, we had slowed to turn the corner. An unmistakable sight and a good Saturday afternoon spent with the 11 waxwings.
