Rock Pipit, Toft Newton Reservoir

A couple of rock pipits on the far bank, the red arrows overhead and a few new born lambs
 - an excellent afternoon stroll !

Cetti's Warbler, Alkborough Flats

A couple of cetti's warblers today at Alkborough Flats, singing their hearts out. Good to see they are spreading north and are now residents on this site.

Glaucous Gull, Alkborough

Decided to walk to the bottom of Alkborough Flats after seeing the cattle egret. The wind was eye watering !  Not disappointed as Karen spotted a 'big white-winged gull' flying over Trent Falls. Refound it after a massive cargo boat had passed, flying east, a fabulous glaucous gull.

Cattle Egret, Alkborough Flats

Little egret with the cattle egret

A first for Alkborough and another excellent find by Neil Drinkall. The cattle egret was in the horse paddocks with little egrets, quite distant, and best viewed from the footpath along the hillside near the riding school.

Red Arrows

We are so very lucky to have the Red Arrows on our doorstep and with clear, blue sky we had to head over to Scampton  to watch them practice. They will soon be headed for Cyprus to complete their training for this season. Will definitely go and watch them again before the season starts.
