Messingham brambling

A visit to Messingham Nature Reserve on Friday lunchtime to feed the birds and to our surprise, this brambling called in for lunch and stayed ! The first we have ever seen there and our first for this winter. One of our favourite birds and a pleasure to watch.

But come to mention it, there were no birders either !

So pleased the night out was better than the days birding as that was dire !

Cleethorpes Gulls

Plenty of black-headed gulls to help us eat our lunch. We did go for the snow buntings but there were that many dog walkers and photographers pushing them up and down the beach, we decided not to bother.  So pleased with these pics, taken with the new lens that cost a staggering £26 !!
