A trip to Spurn in the hope of seeing a rarity this migration proved a bit disappointing. The highlight of the morning were a couple of porpoises swimming past. The only birds worth a mention were thse two wheatears and a few whinchats and pied flycatchers. The wasps were still there in numbers and were still very angry! The point was still cut off from this weeks high tides where the road had been damaged. I still enjoy a visit to Spurn even when there are more birders than birds!
