Great Grey Shrike, Hatfield Moor
Our first local shrike of the year ! A long walk but well worth it and with excellent directions from Linda we found the area the shrike favoured. Our Tom came with us which was lovely, his very first twitch. He even had binoculars and watched the bird along with the small crowd. Good to catch up with Richard. The shrike was soon picked up by Karen and it remained distant and extremely active for the couple of hours we were there. So pleased we had worn wellies, up to our ankles in places !

Pomarine Skua, Donna Nook, Lincs
Pom Skua on the beach at Donna Nook. It has plenty to eat with over 2000+ seal pups already this year. It was feeding when we got there but then flew round, eventually landing and sleeping nearly the whole time we were there, stuffed with food. The crowds were not too large, but the temperature was baltic !
Lots of Meadow Pipits on the beach
A black seal cub, very unusual
We saw a seal being born, the placenta feeding the gulls
Brand new !!
