This week so far .....

Long-tailed Duck and a couple of  Common Scoter at Covenham Reservoir

 Kestrel

Kingfisher at Blacktoft Sands

and a couple of Willow Tits on one of our local walks.....on a footpath next to a housing estate, not on a nature reserve so we will be able to feed and watch these birds without the wrath of the Lincs Trust.

Hen Harriers - another day !

TWO !!

A tussle with a marsh harrier

We couldn't resist another day with these two stunning birds and Monday was a good choice of day with less people and traffic on this road. It was nice to chat to the farmer who showed a interest in all the birds and stopped to watch these two with us. We have loads more pics to share with you, hope that you enjoy looking at them.

Ringtail Hen Harriers

With a mouse - not a grouse !

Just one or two set-aside fields left in Lincolnshire for these stunning birds to feed in and we wouldn't have to drive into Yorkshire to see them. There's not just one.....there's TWO !!

Todays tree planting at Spurn

An excellent morning helping to plant 420 trees at Spurn. Karen had successfully applied to the Woodland Trust on behalf of Spurn Bird Observatory for trees for the new Obs garden, Church Field and Corner Field.  An eager working party was arranged for Saturday, and cancelled due to torrential rain !  So we decided on Sunday and we couldn't have wished for better weather. Within a couple of hours, all 420 trees were in the ground !  A real feel good feeling as a waxwing flew over and the first birds on the new planting were a couple of nosy robins. A good day !
