Clouded Yellow Butterflies

Lots of Clouded Yellow Butterflies getting reported recently. A nod from Martin and Richard and we were off over the bridge to see these. Our first trip was last Friday  but the wind was relentless and the sun was more in than out so we knew a return trip was necessary. So with full sun forecast we headed to this fantastic field again this morning. A beautiful butterfly that never lands ! We kept thinking they must feed soon but up and down and round and round they went, at jet speed ! Stunning colour and a new UK butterfly for us. Thanks for the info guys !

and the field, absolutely massive and planted with clover, vetch and other nectaring plants. Covered in insects and butterflies......every farm should do this, it is fantastic !
