Shore Larks, Snow Buntings & Twite, Lincs Coast

A bit of fieldcraft and an awful lot of patience rewarded us with 8 Shore Larks. We had heard them when we first arrived but they remained elusive on the saltmarsh. So we stood and waited and eventually we  had them in flight, landing straight infront of us. Bingo !

We were very lucky having the lapland bunting fly over twice but these snow buntings were a bonus for the day. We were just chatting about going and these flew infront of us.....so we stayed awhile longer !

A large flock of twite which constantly flushed and flew around, settled for a feed and then flew again. Always good to see. A fabulous day with blue sky and excellent birds.
