Toft Newton Reservoir

It's lovely to see the swallows back, looking fit,  swooping and feeding over the water and then gathering for a good gossip on the wall !

Lots of pied wagtails around the edge, busy feeding and avoiding the waves, lucky to see a white wagtail among them.

Mint sauce, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds but shush don't tell them !

A very distant pair of Red Crested Pochard. The weather was dire today at Toft, blowing a gale and grey. The birds on the water disappeared in the waves and swell.

Plenty of yellow wagtails around the reservoir, stunning colours, all busy stepping through the grass hungrily feeding.
