Pied & Spotted Flycatchers
Two distant short-eared owls
We thought it would be a good idea to head to Spurn on Monday afternoon after torrential rain in the morning. The forecast told us it would be fine and sunny by 4pm - wrong ! So the big fall of birds that we thought we would get, never happened. The rain never really stopped and the icterine warbler remained elusive. A real autumnal nip in the air that needed hats and gloves and it was still August !
