'Coot Layby'
Decided on a couple of days in the Scottish Highlands where we could also catch up with the American Coot on Loch Flemington. It was 5pm when we arrived at the coot which we had all to ourselves. But with failing light and a black bird on black peaty water, the photos are not the brightest! Had a lovely 2 days at the Nethy Bridge Hotel and was treated to fish and chips from a chip van - a first for us and they were absolutely gorgeous! Saw 2 ptarmigan from the car park at Aviemore but afraid that due to deep snow and very low cloud, we didn't venture up the mountain. An excellent 2 days but drove well over 1000 miles !
