After a very heavy snowfall on Friday night, we knew we could only stay local on Saturday. So, we set off to find the flock of 100 roving waxwings that Simon had seen earlier in the week. They were soon located just off Brigg Road on Dunlop Way, their usual location. The birds didn't hang around and were soon flying off in search of food. We also saw a huge influx of fieldfares, with 1000's coming over - a sure sign of bad weather in the north.
