Stilt Sandpiper, Northumberland



After having probably one of the worst mornings of my working career, I talked my hubby into booking the afternoon off and so we drove 200 miles north to catch up with this American beauty. Very distant and with the sun straight at us, photography was almost impossible. But it was still a feel good factor to add this to our UK list. We did see many of these in America where they were almost at your feet. A lovely bird in our favourite part of the country.
