Spurn

The Lighthouse at Spurn Point in the distance

Had a lovely day at Spurn. Drove there with the hope of seeing the wryneck from yesterday, but that had long gone. Still a good day spoilt by the 'killer' wasps that had been blown in from the continent, 1000's of them all angry and hungry! I love the anticipation of Spurn, and the excitement of when you turn the corner........a lot of cars means there's something to see, but today there were no cars !
Hope you like the pics, if you have never been before it is a magical place (Karen's favourite) that is quickly disappearing. We can remember 10 years ago when there was at least another field at the end of the car park. This has now been washed away. Spurn is situated on the north bank of the entrance to the River Humber and is a long sandy spit that streches for 3 miles into the estuary. A truly unique place and an excellent spot to watch bird migration and hope for a rarity.
