Catching Up

 


4 Roe Deer this afternoon, 1 male with 3 females......he didn't let them stray far !


Our local Ringtail is still about !  Not seen it for about a month so this sighting was quite a surprise. Never close and this afternoon, always going away from us !

Red Kite




 A local red kite, always good to see but pity about the grey, gloomy sky !

Whooper Swans and a Pied Wagtail

 





What a lovely surprise yesterday morning with 10 whooper swans on the water. Coupled with a pair of little owls on the way......a lovely morning walk. And this stunningly marked pied wagtail that caught our eye !

Starling Murmuration, Far Ings, Barton

A Saturday evening standing in the car park at Far Ings !  Long time since we have seen a starling murmuration, not bad but with a few more thousand it could have been spectacular. A couple of sparrowhawk joined in, looking for supper !

18 Cattle Egrets, Hagg Lane Flash, Notts

 









18 Cattle Egrets at Hagg Lane, on the Lincs / Notts border. 18, now that was some number and a very impressive sight. We can remember when we twitched our first one in the UK at Donna Nook and just look how the numbers have increased over the years. Afraid we could only get to the Slaynes Lane corner as the whole road was under water.
