Self found Hooded Crow and Ravens in North Lincs !

Simon found this hooded crow just before Christmas and despite regular walks in this area, it wasn't re-found until Friday. Never close and certainly never settled, this is the closest we could get. Far better to find your own birds than stand with the crowds at waxwings ! 

And in the same area, a pair of ravens drifted over us yesterday. We see one regularly here but now there are two !  

A grand day out !

A lovely walk in the winter sun today gave us a bittern flyby and this lovely close up kingfisher.

Another week goes by with still very few birds to see as we take our binoculars for a walk every single day. Things have to improve......

So good to have a few pics to put on this blog. Despite walking and birding every single day, this year has been really hard work with very few birds. Infact, every day we have simply taken our binoculars out for a walk !  Lets hope that things improve. 

But it is so good to be able to see the Reds practice. Today we had beautiful, clear blue sky.....but bitterly cold wind blowing straight from Siberia !  We will certainly miss the Reds when they move to their new home. Better make the most of these practice sessions and really looking forward to this years displays.
