Very distant and all shots digi-scoped. Just one word - 'WOW' !!

Long-tailed Ducks at Covenham Reservoir, Lincs

It's always blowing a gale when you get on top of the reservoir and with waves that wouldn't look out of place in the North Sea, finding two ducks was not easy. And whatever way you walk round, the birds are always on the opposite bank ! A very pleasant Friday mornings birding.

Great-crested Grebe

Quite a few grebes today at Rufford Park, pairing up ready for this years breeding. Hard to believe that it is only March 1st with the sun beating down today and all the birds singing away. Even managed to remove one layer of fleece !

M180 Great Grey Shrike

Great Grey Shrike on the side of the motorway. This bird has been here for some considerable time but we only managed to locate it today. Always very distant from the birders yet had no fear of the 20 ton lorry's and constant passing traffic !
