Our week was going so well..........until this arrived silently on Tuesday night !
It made rural driving almost impossible, infact for a full day we couldn't get up the hill out of our village. This snow wasn't forecast which makes the spanish weather forecasters as reliable as ours ! The snow continued throughout Wednesday and stopped Thursday lunchtime, depositing a good 4". There was no way our little car would get up 'wolf track', so on Thursday at 6am with the temperature at -7, we set off to walk it. No luck with the wolves, infact it was very difficult to find any landmarks and no movement was obvious. So, with near hypothermia we beat a retreat back for breakfast.

Richardson's Canada Goose
A trip to Frampson to see this goose which was easy to find amongst the other Canadas and Greylags. One of the photos show it next to a Canada Goose and the size difference is obvious. This goose preened for a good two hours, no feather was left untouched! A red crested pochard swam in, two quality birds in one shot !

Kumliens Gull
Decided to head over the Humber Bridge to Barmston today, hoping to see the Kumliens Gull. Left home with sun and beautiful blue sky. As we neared Bridlington, the sky darkened and snow and sleet fell! We stood on the beach with near hypothermia until this gull flew in with the tide receding and plenty of food visible on the beach. It was well worth the stand, a cracker of a bird!
