Ringtail Hen Harrier

We only saw the one on our trip this week, but no complaints whatsoever. All watched from the comfort of our car with a flask of fresh coffee and at this time of year, a box of mince pies !  Oh, and a warm blanket on my knees x  Going back again this afternoon, fingers crossed !

Stonechat and bits

and a pair from Singleton Hide at Blacktoft Sands

Lots of stonechats along the lane this week and a few other bits

Cormorant

A roe deer walked out straight infront of us but slightly obscured by grasses

A kestrel and a passing marsh harrier are always good to see

Our hedgerows are alive with linnets

100's of linnets along this hedgerow along with a smittering of yellowhammers and goldfinches. Quite a spectacle to see

Fieldfare ...... and lots of them !

Masses on our afternoon walk, stripping every berry off the hedgerows

A beautiful buzzard in the winter sun

Sunning itself on the fence, not bothered by us at all so we enjoyed watching and photographing it for a while. Flushed by a walker, totally oblivious of her surroundings as she walked between us watching the buzzard through binoculars with the camera set up........words do sometimes fail !

Kestrels

Some excellent views of kestrels of late, we see at least one on every walk but they are not all as obliging as this one !
